About this guide
WPI history, built for your phone.
WPI Walks turns Windham Preservation Inc.’s published tour maps and approved imagery into searchable, shareable, mobile-friendly pages while preserving WPI’s original numbering and source links.
Offline walking
Core tour and stop pages are cached by the app’s service worker. On a tour page, tap Save tour offline before you start; the app will cache that route’s pages and attempt to save the original WPI map image too.
OpenStreetMap’s public tile service is intended for normal interactive use, not bulk offline downloading. WPI’s illustrated tour maps are therefore the offline visual fallback.

Historical sourcing & images
Windham Preservation Inc. is the primary source for the tour sequence, stop names, building dates, architectural descriptions and tour imagery. Where a verified open-license or public-domain stop-level image is stronger, the app uses it with explicit credit and keeps the original WPI artwork one tap away. Outside historical sources are linked when they add useful context.
Corrections
Local history evolves as records are digitized and research improves. If you spot an error or have a better source, use WPI’s tour-map page to flag it. We intentionally surface source conflicts rather than hiding them.
