A native-stone church blending Greek and Gothic Revival ideas; its nineteenth-century spire was eventually removed after storm damage.

Additional context

St. Paul’s parish organized in 1832 and erected this stone church the following year. An 1889 county history records the first service on Christmas Day 1833 and consecration in April 1834.
