Elderkin was a prominent eastern Connecticut lawyer, militia officer, legislator, and Revolutionary leader. WPI identifies his surviving house as a key America 250 stop.

Additional context

Elderkin’s Windham career connected law, manufacturing and Revolutionary service. He sat on Connecticut’s Council of Safety and was tasked with military-industrial work including cannon and gunpowder production.
