How to read the stones

WPI’s map points out local carving traditions including winged faces, cherubs, urn-and-willow motifs, and distinctive work by Josiah Manning and other regional carvers.

Why GPS stops at the gate

Consumer phone GPS can drift by several yards or more. In a compact graveyard, that is not enough to reliably identify a specific stone, so this guide uses the original WPI diagram for the final navigation.
