Built for the Windham National Bank in a temple-like Greek Revival style. The bank famously lost $23,000 in an 1854 robbery before the thieves were caught.

Additional context

The building began as the Windham Bank in 1832. After the bank moved to Willimantic, it served as a bicentennial museum in 1892 and became home to the Windham Free Library in the 1890s.
