WPI identifies a preserved stretch of the army’s route near the Scotland Road corridor, where stone walls and country views help retain the eighteenth-century landscape.

Additional context

The Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail commemorates the allied route that connected New England to Yorktown. NPS specifically identifies Connecticut communities, including Windham, as part of the French army’s 1781 march.
