First Church of Windham

4 Windham Center Road

Congregation 1692; current building c. 1886

From the WPI tour

The congregation dates to 1692. After an 1886 fire, the current Queen Anne-influenced church rose with Gothic arches and a shingled spire.

Additional context

The congregation traces its beginnings to informal meetings in 1692 and formal organization in 1700. The present church is the latest in a succession of meetinghouses that anchored religious life at Windham Center.
